I am Parida Saennam, a Thai-British artist currently residing in California's beautiful Bay Area. I was born in Thailand in 1977 and spent the majority of my adult life in the UK. After 12 years styling at the Vidal Sassoon in London, I decided to follow my passion for art and in 2016 transitioned to working as an artist in Oxford. I started with artistic embroidery, then expanded my art to sculpture and painting.
My art blends visual poetry and narrative, utilizing animals and objects to symbolize love, unity, hope, eternity and healing. Each painting harmonizes soulful portraiture with nature, the power of femininity, and children. My ultimate goal is to capture the essence of each subject in a simple and spiritual manner.
I sincerely hope that my artwork can bring happiness and inspiration to those who see it, promoting self-love and giving a voice to those who may be facing similar circumstances.

Parida Saennam, To Bullies, Everyone Has Limits, 2023
This painting, To Bullies, Everyone Has Limits, reframes the bullying I experienced during my childhood in Udon-Thani, Thailand, which had a profound impact on me. I transformed my pain through art that captures the vibrant spirit of Thailand.

In 2020, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco showed my painting, Quarantine Tea Party, in the inaugural presentation of The de Young Open, giving me affirmation on my choice to become a full-time artist. Since then, I've been working hard to further develop my painting skills, studying with the FAA in Florence, Italy.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to present this new painting in The de Young Open 2023. I sincerely hope that my artwork can bring happiness and inspiration to those who see it, promoting self-love and giving a voice to those who may be facing similar circumstances.
